ACTOR AND HUSBAND ADOPT SON

This is part of what marriage equality is all about – building strong families.

FAMILIES AREN’T HELPED BY OPPOSITION TO GAY MARRIAGE

I was reminded of how excellent Andrew Sullivan’s take on marriage equality is today, from re-reading his book “Same Sex Marriage Pro & Con.” Here is this analysis of what opposing gay marriage, and by extension acceptance of gay men and lesbians, actually hurt the families it is supposed to protect:

LESBIANS MAKE BETTER PARENTS

… That’s according to according to Stephen Scott, Director of Research, at the UK’s National Academy for Parenting Practitioners.

The study by Birkbeck College in London and Clark University in Massachusetts. says that children that are brought up by female couples are less likely to be confined by traditional gender roles, and that because same sex couples can never accidentally conceive they, effectively, take parenting responsibility more seriously.

BELINDA CARLISLE: MY GAY SON DESERVES THE RIGHT TO BE HAPPY

The singer Belinda Carlisle is pushing her new autobiography with, amongst other tales, her strong belief in marriage equality.

She says she feels so strongly because her 18 year old son James Duke Mason (a Glee cast member) is gay and she wants him to have every chance to be happy.
