In the United States there is an impressive list of right-wingers who support gay marriage, from Bush lawyer Ted Olson, with his great essay here, all the way up to Dick Cheney, Laura Bush and Cindy McCain. Even 24% of self-indentifying conservative Republican students support equality – double the rate of older conservatives.
But what about the rest of the globe? In Australia we can barely get ‘socialist left’ politcians to support equality openly!
So nominate someone here to be featured – for the courage value, the surprise value, whatever – give us some names!
