I am on holiday at the moment – incidentally with a view of Albania, a surprising supporter of marriage equality. And the holiday has got me thinking about why a vaction is not always simple for lesbians and gays.
We usually have to Google our rights before going on holiday for example. Will I still be married when my plane lands? Will not being married stop us from getting a room? If we act like a married couple will we get bashed ny the locals?
Can you imagine, what that is like, to live every day with the reality that you have to research your rights – not just for a holiday, but for every life milestone like moving to another place, having kids, buying a house.
Basic progress and even relaxation can be a hassle, and sometimes hell. Why should it be this way?
