In some ways it isn’t a surprise that the publishing home of economic liberalism supports us. But this magazine isn’t known for being run by left-wing radicals either. When The Economist supports you – as they have done since 2004, as seen in this pay-to-read article , you know you back a reasonable and well-reasoned idea.
Here’s a snippet of what they say: “Why should one set of loving, consenting adults be denied a right that other such adults have and which, if exercised, will do no damage to anyone else … If homosexuals want to make such marital commitments to one another, and to society, then why should they be prevented from doing so while other adults, equivalent in all other ways, are allowed to do so?”
It’s even better when you realise they have published 408 articles on the subject in the past 10 years. How many other newspapers can match that record?
